Macy’s Holiday Celebrations

Each holiday season, Macy's stages fun-filled Christmas events in multiple cities across the United States.

Tree Lighting & Holiday Parades

Together with our partners, we host Tree Lighting Ceremonies and Holiday Parades that celebrate the season and give families a warm feeling inside as they are entertained by singers, dancers, orchestras, choirs and celebrities. In most locations, a yearly holiday spectacle full of enchantment and wonder leads to the big moment when we flip the switch and light the city's tree. (Tree Lighting available in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. Holiday Parades available in New York, Orlando and Pittsburgh.)

Philadelphia Holiday Events

See the Christmas Light Show and Wanamaker Organ Concert in the famed historical Grand Court atrium of Macy's Center City in Philadelphia! At this great family-oriented event, you'll see snowflakes, ballerinas and reindeer float beyond the atrium's four-story-high velvet curtain. More than 100,000 LED lights combine to shape amazing holiday-themed images. The Macy’s Magic Christmas Tree that appears during the show is made up of approximately 34,500 LED lights in six different colors.

Also see one of the most beloved Christmas books of all time, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, come to life at Macy’s Center City at Dickens’ Village—a 6,000-square-foot walk-through version of the classic tale. The experience culminates in a one-on-one with Santa Claus with the opportunity to sit on his lap, share wishes and have a photo taken with him.
