San Francisco Visitor Information Center provides many city guides.

Macy’s Union Square has partnered with San Francisco Travel, the city’s official Convention and Visitors Bureau, to create a 1,500-sq. ft. Visitor Information Center within the store that provides a comprehensive array of personalized information and services for visitors.

Located in The Cellar on the lower level of the store, the Visitor Center features an entire wall of free brochures, maps and visitor guides covering over 300 attractions and activities in and around San Francisco.

Expert Concierge Staff

The Center’s concierge staff has received extensive training from San Francisco Travel and are expert in all aspects of the city and Macy’s Union Square store. Visitors who stop by the Visitor Center can turn to them for any need or question relating to the store and their San Francisco sojourn.

The Visitor Information Center at Macy's Union Square is staffed by San Francisco experts.

The staff stands ready to help visitors whether they are local residents seeking to gather information for visiting guests or out-of-town travelers trying to make the most of their trip. Among the vital services the Visitor Center team provides: building itineraries and providing suggestions for places to go and things to do, as well as directions to the destinations.

Touch-Screen Kiosks for Self-Service

For visitors who prefer a more self-directed experience, the Visitor Information Center provides touch-screen kiosks and there is free Wi-Fi throughout the store. Visitors can easily research restaurants and attractions, purchase tickets to them and even print out map directions.

Bag Check Service

To lighten the load of store visitors, the Visitor Center provides complimentary bag check—those carrying purchases or baggage can browse and shop in Macy’s without worrying about having to cart around their possessions. This service is particularly ideal for guests who have checked out of their hotel and wish to spend time browsing and shopping at Macy’s before resuming their travels.

Tickets to Attractions

The Visitor Information Center sells tickets to various attractions and these options will be expanded over time. Present offers include:
•    Big Bus Tours, a hop-on, hop-off open-top bus tour that takes visitors to key places of interest in the city.
•    CityPASS, a pocket-sized ticket book that provides a 46% discount for 4 top San Francisco attractions over 9 days, plus unlimited Cable Car rides and a Muni bus passport covering historic streetcars, diesel and electric trolley buses.
•    Explorer Pass, which allows visitors to enjoy 4 attractions and tours from among 19 different options at a 50% savings over a period of 30 days.

Macy’s Shopping Package

The Visitor Information Center also sells a Macy’s San Francisco Shopping Package for $35. The package makes a wonderful gift for friends and family, and comprises a Macy’s tote bag containing a $25 Macy’s gift card, a VIP Passport, a Frango Chocolate Sampler and other special offers and discounts. The look and contents of the package change according to store promotions, which include, for example, the annual Macy’s Flower Show and Lunar New Year event.

Macy’s Visitor Savings Pass

One of the most valuable Visitor Center offerings is the 10% off Visitor Savings Pass. Domestic and international visitors can pick up the savings pass for free with a valid ID and then apply it to their Macy’s purchases (some exclusions apply).

Macy's Union Square Visitor Center provides a free 10% off Visitor Savings Pass.

Visitor Information Center Convenience

Located in the Lower Level Cellar of the Macy’s Union Square main building, the Visitor Center offers maximum convenience. It’s adjacent to a shop where visitors can purchase San-Francisco-themed apparel, tote bags, hats and other items. And it’s also right next to the only U.S. Post Office in Union Square—it couldn’t be any easier to send packages.

The Center’s hours match those of the store--typically, Mon.-Sat., 10 am-9 pm; and Sun., 11 am-7 pm. Come by and sample the many wonderful services the facility has to offer.
