The countdown to the Boston Marathon is well underway, with only a couple of days until the world renowned race takes over the city on Monday, April 20th.  Over 30,000 runners annually visit Boston to make the trek from my very own hometown, Hopkinton, Massachusetts to the 'Hub of the Universe', Boston.

The Boston Marathon has a long history, going back to the late 1800s.  John Graham, an Olympic Marathon participant and member to the Boston Marathon Athletic Association established the race.  The Olympic Games served as his inspiration to found it in 1897.  2015 marks 119 years that Bostonians and runners around the world have treasured the Boston Marathon as one of the world’s most prestigious road races. Learn more about the race on the Boston Athletic Association's website.

Macy’s Downtown Boston is paying tribute to the race this year with a Boston Marathon themed window display.  The display features Finish Line’s athletic shoes modeled in front of the Boston's iconic buildings.
