The Walnut Room, located in Macy’s State Street, is one of Chicago’s most beloved landmarks, is known for its spectacular holiday decor and special holiday menu. Many people visit the restaurant annually to see and dine alongside the lighted 45-foot Great Tree that graces the restaurant each November through early January.
The Great Tree hangs from the ceiling of the Walnut Room and is decorated with over 1,200 ornaments and 15,000 sparkling lights.
The 112th Great Tree Lighting Ceremony was held on Saturday, November 2 at 12 pm and included a performance by Brian King Joseph, electric violinist and Top 3 finalist of America's Got Talent Season 13.
The tree lighting kicked off the holiday season at Macy’s on State Street. Following the ceremony, Santaland at Macy’s State Street opened for the season. Be sure to visit Santa and view the animated holiday window displays on State Street.
