Macy's 4th of July Fireworks

Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks

The Annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks® show celebrates America’s birthday with patriotic standards and dazzling sparkles that light up the New York skyline in a show unlike any other.

Macy’s works hand-in-hand with the best pyrotechnic team in the business to design and install tens of thousands of dazzling effects, all choreographed to an Independence Day medley. Macy's 4th of July Fireworks® is the largest Independence Day fireworks display in the nation and the single show against which all others are measured.

The Fireworks are broadcast live on NBC-TV during a two hour entertainment special that also features performances from the world’s biggest music stars. Performers during past Macy’s Fireworks broadcasts have included artists such as Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, and Katy Perry. Macy's Fireworks take place from a number of barges firing simultaneously in waterways surrounding New York City. More than 15 million viewers tune into NBC's telecast and nearly 3 million spectators view the live show from positions along the river.

The 2018 dazzling pyrotechnic spectacle marked Macy’s Fireworks largest display since the Millennial Celebration with more than 75,000 shells and effects launched from seven barges positioned in midtown on Manhattan’s East River. The fireworks were accompanied by rousing patriotic music from the West Point Band and Glee Club, a special rendition of “God Bless America” performed by superstar Kelly Clarkson and additional show-stopping performances by world-famous stars including Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Ricky Martin, and American Authors.
