Macy's Celebrates the 2017 Lunar New Year
The 2017 Chinese Lunar New Year takes place on January 28, 2017—a new moon day and, according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar system, the first day of the Chinese zodiac Year of the Rooster. Millions of people the world over will be celebrating, and Macy’s is marking the occasion with special events, savings opportunities and products from January 28-February 18, 2017.

Macy’s customers have access to exclusive Lunar New Year Gift With Purchase offers: Spend $150 and you’ll receive one red envelope containing a random promo item prize based on the stock of the store's Visitor Center (while supplies last, one per customer). Spend $200 and receive one red envelope with a promo item prize and an exclusive Macy's Lunar New Year tote bag. The offers are valid at the following Macy's stores: New York Herald Square, San Francisco Union Square, Las Vegas, Chicago State Street, Downtown LA, Orlando, Miami, Philadelphia Center City, DC Metro Center, Honolulu Ala Moana and downtown Boston.
Lunar New Year Shopping Package
In certain locations, Macy’s shoppers also have an opportunity to purchase a Lunar New Year Shopping Package for $35. It includes an exclusive Year of the Rooster Tote bag with chopsticks and a 10% Savings Pass. The shopping package is available in the Visitor Center at the following Macy's stores: New York Herald Square, San Francisco Union Square, Las Vegas, Chicago State Street, Downtown LA, Orlando, Miami, Philadelphia Center City, DC Metro Center, Honolulu Ala Moana and downtown Boston. Customers can also purchase the tote bag alone for $15 in each participating store's Visitor Center.

A red and gold Lunar New Year Gift Card featuring a rooster is available to purchase in Macy’s stores across the country. You’ll find it next to store registers.
San Francisco Lunar New Year Parade
San Francisco’s Chinese New Year celebration is one of the largest and most spectacular in the world, and it includes a Lunar New Year Parade that will take place on Saturday, February 11.
The parade starts at 5:15 pm at the corner of 2nd and Market Streets, weaves through Chinatown and ends at Jackson and Kearny Streets at around 8 pm. Several floats will be featured—be sure to catch the Macy’s float!

Feb. 11, 2 pm—Celebrate Chinese New Year With Chef Martin Yan—Macy's Union Square in San Francisco, CA
Enjoy delicious samples as chef and partner Martin Yan of M.Y. China restaurant demonstrates his approach to traditional Chinese cuisine. Celebrated host of over 3,000 cooking shows, Chef Yan is a certified Master Chef and has contributed his talents to 30 cookbooks.
