In response to the widespread COVID-19 outbreak, Macy’s, Inc. announced that it will temporarily close all stores. As a result, the annual Macy’s Flower Show displays and supporting events scheduled to run from March 22, 2020 through April 5, 2020 in New York, Chicago and San Francisco were canceled.
Macy’s Flower Show has delighted generations of floral aficionados with spectacular gardens filled with millions of live flowers, plants and trees from around the world. For more than 70 years, Macy’s Flower Show has featured floral materials native to many different landscapes, all blooming in unison despite their unique climatic DNA.
Taking root in unexpected settings such as store countertops, windows and specially-designed architecture, including grand bridges, columns and topiaries, Macy’s Flower Show is staged in unique fashion at three flagship locations nationwide—Herald Square in New York City, State Street in Chicago and Union Square in San Francisco. The show offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to enjoy these magnificent blossoms. Macy’s invites visitors to take part in flower demonstrations and other events, marvel at breathtaking floral scenes, purchase Flower Show merchandise and take advantage of free tours in select cities. This two-week exhibition is free to the public during store hours.
