The Macy’s Retail 101 Tour will inspire students of all ages. Our knowledgeable tour guides can cater to different group sizes and ages as they discuss a brief history of Macy’s and the Marshall Field’s building, plus specific concepts in merchandising, marketing and visual design tailored to the State Street flagship.

Macy's Chicago Great Tree Lighting

Each year at Macy’s State Street, a new Christmas theme comes to life, awakening the spirit of the holiday season. Our Holiday Traditions Tour includes the history of Macy’s holiday traditions like the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, animated store window displays and, of course, the two-story Great Tree, dressed with 15,000 dazzling lights and 1,200 themed ornaments in the world-famous Walnut Room.

All tours are 60 minutes, require a minimum of 10 participants and cost $12.00 per person. We also offer the option of adding lunch in the Walnut Room to the Macy’s History Tour and Holiday Traditions Tour.
